I originally played with the canadian pharmacy Accutane airbrush shortly after getting the set, but ended up just being frustrated. Using some random small Venom action figure from canadian pharmacy Accutane Goodwill, I tried repainting it red to redeco him as Carnage. The paint didn’t flow smoothly, it canadian pharmacy Accutane globbed up, the paint flaked when touched, and the pinpoint detail the canadian pharmacy Accutane 0.2mm was supposed to have just wasn’t there. It was not a great first impression.

Discouraged, I put it away for several months.

Then last month, I felt like trying it again. I hadn’t been canadian pharmacy Accutane creative in a while and it felt like a good time to canadian pharmacy Accutane give it another whack.

I started by digibashing the canadian pharmacy Accutane figures. Using some macro photographs I took of the toys, I loaded up Photoshop and canadian pharmacy Accutane recolored the original plastics. I didn’t spend a canadian pharmacy Accutane whole lot of time getting the details exactly perfect; as I just wanted a canadian pharmacy Accutane base from which to work on with the actual paint. I tried to canadian pharmacy Accutane use colors that matched paints I already had so I wouldn’t have canadian pharmacy Accutane to mix unique colors. I thought this digibashing process would take quite a canadian pharmacy Accutane while, but I cranked all three rough redecos out in about 2 hours.

The next step was choosing which one to canadian pharmacy Accutane start with, and then taking it apart. Jolt, the basis for canadian pharmacy Accutane Shrapnel, seemed like a good starting point with a larger number of screws versus pins. Pins can canadian pharmacy Accutane be a pain to remove and put back, so I saved the canadian pharmacy Accutane other two figures for later. Piece by piece I disassembled Jolt into as many parts as I could, all along keeping track of each screw and canadian pharmacy Accutane where they went by taping them to sticky notes. Screw lengths and canadian pharmacy Accutane widths are not uniform across the figure as I found out at Botcon. I had canadian pharmacy Accutane to make sure each screw went back where in came. Each part was then canadian pharmacy Accutane separated into separate bowls that were grouped by color.

I decided to canadian pharmacy Accutane start with the pearlescent yellow that was for the windows to canadian pharmacy Accutane mimic the yellow/gold plastic on the original. I knew I wouldn’t be canadian pharmacy Accutane able to keep the translucency of the blue windows, but I figured the canadian pharmacy Accutane paint would look good against the other colors. The initial bits of yellow would also not need to canadian pharmacy Accutane be masked off making it a good starting point. I also tried my hand at the canadian pharmacy Accutane pearlescent silver bits with his pincers on his back.

Unfortunately as I came to canadian pharmacy Accutane find out, the non-opaque paints I have do not cover well nor spread well. I had canadian pharmacy Accutane not figured out the correct mixture of paint to illustration base at this canadian pharmacy Accutane point and so I slathered each piece just trying to get it canadian pharmacy Accutane to coat. The paint was thick and much of it was wasted. I did not start with an canadian pharmacy Accutane opaque base and so most of the paint just didn’t stick. I also had not sanded each piece prior.

I also was finding that canadian pharmacy Accutane the airbrush was clogging a lot. Constant cleaning and disassembling of the canadian pharmacy Accutane airbrush were common occurrences. In addition, I was quickly running out of the canadian pharmacy Accutane small bottle of the airbrush cleaner I had. Halfway through the canadian pharmacy Accutane painting process while trying to clean the brush, I ended up stripping the canadian pharmacy Accutane threads off the 0.2mm nozzle. That put a delay in the canadian pharmacy Accutane customizing, after which Jessica headed to Phoenix and nicely picked up both a canadian pharmacy Accutane replacement 0.2mm nozzle and a 0.3mm nozzle (which works via some slight jerry-rigging). That was an additional $80 I had not planned on…

I fumbled through the canadian pharmacy Accutane rest of the colors over the span of 2 weeks, finding better paint mix ratios and canadian pharmacy Accutane seeing that the opaque colors like white, black, and dark colors don’t need much spraying before seeing results. I tested my hand at masking, unfortunately finding that canadian pharmacy Accutane some pieces need to be perfect and ended up with some bleeding such as black streaks in the canadian pharmacy Accutane yellow. Also, the Createx paints don’t cure unless they are canadian pharmacy Accutane heated with a air dryer or heat gun. Even after that canadian pharmacy Accutane they still show fingerprints and smudges. Next time I will try actually using the canadian pharmacy Accutane clear coats intended for finished pieces.

So I had canadian pharmacy Accutane all the pieces mostly painted, they had been heat cured, and canadian pharmacy Accutane I felt anxious to get the figure together. Seeing it canadian pharmacy Accutane all in parts strewn across the table kept irking me.

Starting with his arms, I quickly found out that canadian pharmacy Accutane because I had painted so thick and/or the paint wasn’t fully cured, parts which rubbed or canadian pharmacy Accutane twisted against others rubbed the paint off in spots. Ball and canadian pharmacy Accutane swivel joints rubbed down to their base plastics which was a canadian pharmacy Accutane bright electric blue. Furthermore I found that if pegs had been canadian pharmacy Accutane painted, the pieces wouldn’t fit together cleanly or canadian pharmacy Accutane smoothly. I ended up breaking the base peg on his left knee trying to canadian pharmacy Accutane dry fit the part. At least the screw and other parts that canadian pharmacy Accutane followed still keep him together. On later pieces I ended up scraping away unnecessary paint on these pegs with a canadian pharmacy Accutane exacto knife so the pieces fit better.

Once fully together, I started to canadian pharmacy Accutane paint the small details. Red eyes, detail highlights, headlights, bumper trim, and canadian pharmacy Accutane the like.

Transforming Shrapnel, or canadian pharmacy Accutane even moving some joints, is not as smooth as I would have canadian pharmacy Accutane hoped. His parts are very tight due to the paint, and canadian pharmacy Accutane he is quite hard to actually get transformed between modes. In addition, the canadian pharmacy Accutane colors that I had don’t quite match up to canadian pharmacy Accutane what I had planned. The yellow is not quite orange enough, the canadian pharmacy Accutane purple is a bit dark, and the silver is just a canadian pharmacy Accutane bit too white (even though I can’t quite get the chromed look with just paint).

But I can now honestly say I’m glad to canadian pharmacy Accutane have this first self-designed custom Transformer completed. He does look quite nice on my desk even with his imperfections.

The question now is when I’ll get to canadian pharmacy Accutane the other two Insections I had digibashed. I must admit I’m a bit burned out at the moment as the process wasn’t what canadian pharmacy Accutane I consider fun. Also, do I make changes to the canadian pharmacy Accutane coloring to match what I wished the scheme was or canadian pharmacy Accutane keep the other two the same to match how Shrapnel turned out?

The class sounded like a canadian pharmacy Accutane good idea, and so I tried to reserve my seat when canadian pharmacy Accutane I faxed in my registration. As it happened, I was quick enough and canadian pharmacy Accutane luckily I got in under the cutoff for the Thursday class.

He and other volunteers then handed out bags (containing even more bags) with all the canadian pharmacy Accutane toy parts still on their plastic sheets. We had to then canadian pharmacy Accutane take each sheet and cut/twist off each part and canadian pharmacy Accutane sort them into quadrants on the foam tray. There was one slight hiccup that they caught during Wednesday’s class and canadian pharmacy Accutane it seemed some bags had 4 of a part, which other bags had canadian pharmacy Accutane 4 of another part. So once we got the parts untwisted, we simply traded 2 of that canadian pharmacy Accutane part with our neighbor for 2 of their part.

The parts themselves were the canadian pharmacy Accutane exact same unpainted mold as Wings of Honor Thunderclash, and canadian pharmacy Accutane it was quite interesting just how plain or “naked” this canadian pharmacy Accutane toy looked. Paint applications really are a key part of each figure.

They recommended that canadian pharmacy Accutane you lay down strips of masking tape to group each set of pins together. Differences between the canadian pharmacy Accutane lengths/widths of each pin were very hard to canadian pharmacy Accutane determine and the photocopied guide sheet wasn’t perfect (nor could you expect it to be). This by far took the longest and even then I didn’t match them up perfectly as I came to find out.

So with all the canadian pharmacy Accutane prep work done, it was time to start building. Each quadrant of the canadian pharmacy Accutane tray was a different body part such as a left leg, right arm, torso, etc. In the canadian pharmacy Accutane instruction booklet, each body part had an exploded view showing each individual part, what canadian pharmacy Accutane order to put them together, and what pin or screw you’d need.

In some places where there was just a pin, or a larger screw, we’d need to canadian pharmacy Accutane bore out the pin hole with a mini-borer. Sometimes the parts would be canadian pharmacy Accutane too tight if we didn’t clear out the canadian pharmacy Accutane holes, and so we needed to make sure parts could rotate correctly and canadian pharmacy Accutane not have stress fractures.

Slowly my first part, the canadian pharmacy Accutane left arm, came together. It took a little thinking to get started as you canadian pharmacy Accutane had to make sure you wouldn’t screw up. Lots of parts were pressure fitted once combined and canadian pharmacy Accutane so you had to make sure it was right. In addition, some parts needed to canadian pharmacy Accutane be pressed together with a hand-held leather punch (like pins) or hammered with a setting pin at Shawn’s desk.

I kept plugging away at parts and canadian pharmacy Accutane eventually hit on my first snag. I started to screw together one of the canadian pharmacy Accutane hands, but had placed the wrong fist on that hand. In my attempt to canadian pharmacy Accutane fix this I stripped my first screw, and realized that you canadian pharmacy Accutane really did have to put this together correctly the first time. Regardless, arms, hands, and canadian pharmacy Accutane legs were coming together.

The process began picking up speed as I got comfortable with how these toys are canadian pharmacy Accutane built. The construction did start becoming a bit more complicated, especially in areas like the canadian pharmacy Accutane torso where the Powerlinx feature was.

There were a canadian pharmacy Accutane few more missteps along the way: forgotten parts, screws that were too big, over tightening parts, taking things apart to canadian pharmacy Accutane make sure they were right, etc. An example of one of those errors is canadian pharmacy Accutane in one of the pictures above (the one with two legs). You can see a small dimple at the top of his left leg that isn’t on his right leg. That dimple was created by using a canadian pharmacy Accutane screw that was too long and screwing it too far. Doing so made the canadian pharmacy Accutane screw tip poke through and almost push through his left hip. I wasn’t alone with having errors like this, so I don’t feel too bad.

The class had canadian pharmacy Accutane started at 9am and finally by a little after 1pm I had canadian pharmacy Accutane completed the base figure. I hadn’t taken a break for lunch (knowing that my time was limited) and it still took 4 hours to build this guy. I really didn’t think it canadian pharmacy Accutane would take that long, and I had expected to spend most of my time painting and canadian pharmacy Accutane tweaking the figure when I had initially signed up for the class.

However now that I was done building, it was time to paint.

The only set of personal tools I had canadian pharmacy Accutane brought were my own paintbrushes, and I’m glad I did. We were only provided with one to use (along with some toothpicks) and canadian pharmacy Accutane I wanted to have a few more options. We had canadian pharmacy Accutane access to lots of enamel paints, some metallic but most were flats. An airbrush area was also available, which I ended up using later.

I didn’t have canadian pharmacy Accutane any idea what to go with as far as a color scheme. It was suggested to canadian pharmacy Accutane just enhance his normal non-painted colors since the Wings of Honor Thunder Clash had canadian pharmacy Accutane lots of paint apps, and so by leaving him mostly cream/white would make him look evil. I instead decided to canadian pharmacy Accutane go with navy blues and burgundy red colors, with hits of purple.

Painting the canadian pharmacy Accutane figure was a lot harder than I had anticipated. The enamels were pretty thick and canadian pharmacy Accutane weren’t the easiest to get detail work with (at least in the short time remaining). We could use toothpicks to drop bits of paint into spaces (like the face) and canadian pharmacy Accutane it would fill in the crevices. I did my best with what canadian pharmacy Accutane I thought would work. I was happy with my results for canadian pharmacy Accutane the most part, but I had wished I had not used a canadian pharmacy Accutane metallic purple paint. This particular paint was very watery and so did not cover well and canadian pharmacy Accutane also dripped. The clean lines I had envisioned ended up being leaky and canadian pharmacy Accutane streaked. Oh well.

I had canadian pharmacy Accutane used the airbrush station as well. Like most of the others, we painted his traditionally clear blue weapon a canadian pharmacy Accutane flat black. With Shawn’s help I was able to canadian pharmacy Accutane get full coverage easily and I was happy how his gun looked in the end.

By a canadian pharmacy Accutane little after 3pm I had finished painting my personal customized Shattered Glass Thunder Clash. The volunteers had canadian pharmacy Accutane to go set up for that evening’s club store, and canadian pharmacy Accutane so the class was drawing to a close. I would later do some additional adjustments once I got back home; like fixing his left hand, tightening screws, and canadian pharmacy Accutane adding additional stickers. However, it still had taken me a whole day to canadian pharmacy Accutane complete a single Transformer.

I’m taking a canadian pharmacy Accutane break from the month-long delayed BotCon posts to comment on Transformers: Revenge of the canadian pharmacy Accutane Fallen.

I initially had canadian pharmacy Accutane planned on seeing the flick, tonight Tuesday June 23 at 12:01am at San Tan Village. I had canadian pharmacy Accutane pre-purchased 2 tickets for myself and Jessica. I had planned on taking Wednesday off to canadian pharmacy Accutane recoup from the long night in line and in the canadian pharmacy Accutane theater.

My timetable jumped up a canadian pharmacy Accutane little over a day when Jessica was able to procure 2 passes to canadian pharmacy Accutane the pre-screening event being held at Tempe Marketplace’s Cine Capri, at 7pm on June 22. A co-worker of hers got the canadian pharmacy Accutane pair of tickets from a relative, who in turn won them from canadian pharmacy Accutane a contest. Knowing that I was a fan, and not wanting to canadian pharmacy Accutane use them himself; I got to see the film early.

Jessica actually got the canadian pharmacy Accutane tickets around noon on Monday, and quickly rushed over to canadian pharmacy Accutane the theater to get in line. These tickets weren’t guaranteed seats, and canadian pharmacy Accutane so we needed to save our place in line. About 30 minutes later I arrived.

By the time I got there, the line that was formed inside was 90% full with about 75 people. Some folks had canadian pharmacy Accutane been there since 6am, just waiting in line. Lots of folks had canadian pharmacy Accutane folding chairs, which spurred myself to go pick up some similar chairs from canadian pharmacy Accutane Target for $10 a piece. I was really tired of these lines, but it canadian pharmacy Accutane was a special event and we were going to see it canadian pharmacy Accutane before the Hollywood premiere which was a nice bonus.

Once we slugged through the canadian pharmacy Accutane long wait, we were left to get the only seats we had canadian pharmacy Accutane access to: 3 rows from the front and to the far right. They were not optimum seats by any means, and canadian pharmacy Accutane in addition the entire upper middle section was roped off for canadian pharmacy Accutane press and vip’s. Regardless we had seats.

After a quick bit of routines from ASU cheerleaders, radio contests, and canadian pharmacy Accutane then a short intro from Todd McFarlane, we got to finally see the canadian pharmacy Accutane movie I had waited so many months to see.

Transformers: Revenge of the canadian pharmacy Accutane Fallen is an interesting movie. Not great by any means, and canadian pharmacy Accutane in my opinion not as good as the first one. The shots of the canadian pharmacy Accutane robots do seem to be better framed, but there is still lots of blur and canadian pharmacy Accutane lots of debris flying everywhere. In addition there is still lots of camera shake and canadian pharmacy Accutane obscuring foreground objects.

The new Transformers they introduce are canadian pharmacy Accutane not used very well, and many are disposed of very very quickly. In addition, lots of characters seem to canadian pharmacy Accutane have multiple copies just to serve as cannon fodder. A good example is canadian pharmacy Accutane the use of the Constructicons. Great to finally see movie versions, but they are canadian pharmacy Accutane almost disposable characters like clones.

The plot is canadian pharmacy Accutane somewhat hard to follow and honestly not all that interesting. It is canadian pharmacy Accutane passable, but it could have been more. It almost seems like this canadian pharmacy Accutane movie suffered from a bad edit as you can tell bits and canadian pharmacy Accutane pieces that had been cut (and been in trailers) might have canadian pharmacy Accutane helped flesh it out further. It was still over 2 hours so it canadian pharmacy Accutane didn’t really need to be much longer.

The biggest disappointment for canadian pharmacy Accutane me was Devastator. I was really looking forward to seeing the canadian pharmacy Accutane big guy and what they would do with him, but like most others have canadian pharmacy Accutane since stated, he is wasted. From the trailers, and even the canadian pharmacy Accutane clip at BotCon, it seemed like he’d be canadian pharmacy Accutane better utilized. It is epic when he is combining together, but then canadian pharmacy Accutane he gets owned pretty easily for such a massive character. Also the canadian pharmacy Accutane humor at his expense on the pyramid is quite crude and canadian pharmacy Accutane pointless.

In fact, most of the canadian pharmacy Accutane humor is way way cruder than the first. Lots of the canadian pharmacy Accutane jokes and occasional swear words really don’t fit. Drug jokes, sex jokes, etc. I know its PG-13, but the stuff they thought would be funny was just plain dumb.

In the end, I’m glad I saw it. Not quite what I had hoped (I even tried to keep my presumptions low), and canadian pharmacy Accutane maybe it kinda fell flat because of how it was presented. The film was out of focus and canadian pharmacy Accutane our placement in the theater really made the whole experience a canadian pharmacy Accutane semi-dud. Not much too complain about though when they are free and early.

On the other hand, I’m quite happy with the canadian pharmacy Accutane toys they have released so far for the movie. In addition, I’m hoping when I see it again in IMAX the visual experience will be better.

As it stands though, I really can’t recommend the film to the casual moviegoer. Or at a minimum, I’d recommend keeping your canadian pharmacy Accutane expectations low. I like summer popcorn movies, and I’m not picky about movies having to canadian pharmacy Accutane be perfect, but the pieces just didn’t come together on this one the way they should have.

The toys on the other hand are quite awesome where can i buy herbal Proscar.

So after finishing dinner at Pinks, we headed back to canadian pharmacy Accutane the hotel and then over to the convention center. Since I had a customizing class the next day, we were able to canadian pharmacy Accutane get registered and pick up my box set before the regular attendees.

We got in line around 7pm for canadian pharmacy Accutane when they opened the doors at 9pm. The convention as a canadian pharmacy Accutane whole was being held at the the Exhibition Hall and canadian pharmacy Accutane Ballroom portion of the Pasadena Convention Center. Although the line outside was fairly short, it canadian pharmacy Accutane was foreshadowing what was to come.

Once inside, they split us up by last name. Dealers received special treatment and canadian pharmacy Accutane got their own instant service line. It seemed that lots of these folks had canadian pharmacy Accutane purchased multiple sets, and many small groups were walking out with 4–5 of the canadian pharmacy Accutane Wings of Honor boxes. Some fans also decided to open their toys right there in the canadian pharmacy Accutane center immediately after obtaining them.

Having hit the canadian pharmacy Accutane outskirts of town, we decided to stop visiting stores and just head to canadian pharmacy Accutane the hotel to drop off our stuff and then head out to canadian pharmacy Accutane an early dinner. Since there is just so much content to write about our trip to BotCon this year, I’m going to canadian pharmacy Accutane be splitting it up into multiple posts and maybe going into detail about specific things. So here is canadian pharmacy Accutane the first bit.

I’d say the start of the BotCon adventure began with my parents’ house being broken into the canadian pharmacy Accutane weekend before the convention. They had been out of town on a canadian pharmacy Accutane trip to Ireland and my sister, Jessica, and myself had been canadian pharmacy Accutane watching the house while they were gone. Unfortunately during one of the canadian pharmacy Accutane spans between us checking up on the home, the front door was broken into.

Nothing apparent was stolen, but it canadian pharmacy Accutane did necessitate us having to stay over at the house for canadian pharmacy Accutane several days, installing a metal security door at midnight, and travelling between their home and canadian pharmacy Accutane ours multiple times.

The toys weren’t officially supposed to canadian pharmacy Accutane be available until May 29th, and most places that had them on the canadian pharmacy Accutane shelves weren’t allowed them to canadian pharmacy Accutane be sold. In fact BotCon was advertising the fact they’d have canadian pharmacy Accutane these first figures available exclusively early and with special first release stickers. Not one to canadian pharmacy Accutane wait, Jessica and I headed over there after breakfast and canadian pharmacy Accutane picked up my first RotF figures: Leader Optimus Prime, Leader Megatron, Deluxe Bumblebee order cheap Crestor online, and Deluxe Sideways.

So that canadian pharmacy Accutane was a nice little surprise to a fairly rough start of a canadian pharmacy Accutane weekend.

This trip netted Deluxe Wheelie, Deluxe Chromia, Deluxe Soundwave, Gravity Bot Bumblebee, Bumble Spud, and a Robot Replica’s Optimus Prime.

So how did I spend part of my Spring Break last month? Why I cataloged each and canadian pharmacy Accutane every piece of Transformers stuff that I own, everything from back in 84′ to current day!

So that I had a complete listing of my stuff before Botcon 09, I pulled down every storage bin down from canadian pharmacy Accutane the attic and gathered the others from my closet. The photo to the left is the fruit on my labors after about I’d say 8 full hours of work. They just barely fit onto our kitchen table and canadian pharmacy Accutane counter. It includes every toy and statue that I own, including the canadian pharmacy Accutane few duplicates.

So once I was done with getting them into robot modes, and canadian pharmacy Accutane after a night’s worth of sleep, I just had to canadian pharmacy Accutane transform them back into their alternate modes. That process took another half-day and canadian pharmacy Accutane the photo to the right is the final alternate mode display.

A large majority of these toys, especially the old school Generation1 toys, were gifts from canadian pharmacy Accutane multiple birthdays and Christmases. They go way back to Windcharger and Sunstreaker as the canadian pharmacy Accutane original toys I received. Save for a few unique pieces, each toy was purchased back when canadian pharmacy Accutane it was available for the regular retail prices. I don’t spend large amounts of money to canadian pharmacy Accutane get individual figures or old G1 figures. These are canadian pharmacy Accutane my figures from back in the day along with recent retail purchases.

It sure was a canadian pharmacy Accutane lot of work, and although it looks like there are hundreds of Transformers strewn about, I was shocked to canadian pharmacy Accutane see the final count so small. Below is the breakdown by series.

Well, it’s official as I’ve fallen down the canadian pharmacy Accutane rabbit hole into my obession with Transformers. Jessica and I are canadian pharmacy Accutane set to go to BotCon 2009 in Pasadena, CA.

It’s one thing to bake a cake, it’s one thing to take tons of photos of toys, it’s an entirely different matter when you start attending conventions.

This will actually be canadian pharmacy Accutane my first convention of any type that I will have attended. Never done the canadian pharmacy Accutane comic book thing, nor sci fi thing. We did go to canadian pharmacy Accutane a small 3D photography convention during a canadian pharmacy Accutane trip through the midwest last year, but that was Jessica’s idea and quite small.

You know you are going to a big convention when:

There are exclusive toys
When said toys sell out within a couple of days
When registering for canadian pharmacy Accutane the convention takes several hours of faxing due to demand jamming the lines
When packaged admission is several hundred dollars
They are canadian pharmacy Accutane premiering the toys from the new movie, Transformers: Revenge of the canadian pharmacy Accutane Fallen

I was lucky enough to canadian pharmacy Accutane get my form in time to get into the lucrative Thursday customizing class. Oh yeah, I get to canadian pharmacy Accutane learn how to make regular toys into custom toys. That is canadian pharmacy Accutane really gonna help with my addiction.

So for canadian pharmacy Accutane 4 days at the end of May, Jessica and I will be canadian pharmacy Accutane heading out to Pasadena to further fuel my obsession with toys from canadian pharmacy Accutane my youth. BotCon being in Pasadena this year is actually fortuitous, since we don’t need to fly to get the convention. I actually don’t think we would have canadian pharmacy Accutane bothered had we been required to fly. So most likely this canadian pharmacy Accutane will be my first and last BotCon… maybe…
