I just got back from seeing Jet Li’s Fearless, a great martial arts movie. It is definitely one of the classier movies of this type, much like Crouching Tiger or Hero. Good acting, excellent choreography, and superb camera work. Some of the visuals are very breathtaking, even if you have seen other chinese period films.
The film is apparently Jet’s last martial arts epic. As such, his work in Fearless is by far his best work to date.
The first time I see on the big screen the trailer of FEARLESS after seeing a film I could not have believed that JET LI my ultimate IDOL was going to shoot his last film.
I said to myself that’s impossible, I know that a movie would be next after that and I was right. However, after I saw the movie I could not accept that it was his last and I was really sad seeing his character portrait died as his career as Super Star also ends.
But thank GOD it was not true.
